MLA Surajit Datta breathes his last

Agartala: Dec 27: Surjit Dutta, Member of Tripura Legislative Assembly and MLA of 7 Ramnagar Constituency has passed away. He breathed his last in a private hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday night. MP Biplab Kumar Deb has expressed deep grief over his demise. Moreover, Union Minister of State Pratima Bhowmik has expressed grief over his demise.

He was admitted to a private hospital in the capital for the past few days due to physical illness. On Wednesday, he was taken Kolkata for better treatment by air ambulance. But the end was not saved. MLA Surjit Dutta breathed his last at a private hospital in Kolkata on Wednesday night.

Chief Minister Prof. Dr.Manik Saha has expressed deep grief over his demise. In his social media page he writes “Saddened & pained by the demise of senior politician & sitting MLA of Bharatiya Janata Party Shri Surajit Dutta (Sunu Daa) during treatment in a hospital outside the State. His demise is an irreparable loss in the State’s political arena.May the departed soul find eternal peace! My deepest sympathy to the bereaved family. Om Shanti”.

As a mark of respect, the Govt of Tripura announced one-day State Mourning on Thursday.
