Agartala: une 12: Last night, a group of miscreants targeted the residence of Manish Ghosh, a CPM activist, in Shivnagar. The assailants verbally abused Ghosh and shattered the glass windows and doors of his house using bricks. Fortunately, they were unable to breach the fixed gate. Threatening to shoot Ghosh if he stepped outside with a revolver, the attackers eventually left after a prolonged standoff. The family promptly reported the incident to the East Agartala police station.

Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, along with CPIM leaders Pavitra Kar and Manik Dey, rushed to Ghosh’s house this morning upon learning of the attack. Ghosh alleges that the assault was orchestrated by Shyam Dey and Arup Sarkar. He has called for a thorough investigation, drawing the attention of the state’s Chief Minister.
