Agartala October 7: Prisons Minister Santana Chakma visited Unakoti District Jail in Kailasahar on Saturday afternoon. During the visit, Minister Santana Chakma was accompanied by Kailasahar Municipal Council Chairperson Chapla Rani Debrai, Kailasahar Sub-Divisional Ruler Pradeep Sarkar and other officials.
Prisons Minister Santana Chakma personally spoke to the prisoners to find out whether the prisoners are facing any difficulties and whether they are being given food on time. Moreover, due to the fact that the concrete building of the district jail is quite old, some parts of the coating are falling off. After the inspection, when Minister Santana Chakma was asked about the old building, the minister said that the district jail is being newly constructed in Jarulatali area of Kailashahar. The work on the new paved building is about ninety percent complete. He said that the district jail will be transferred very soon.
