Agartala July 1: Agartala Government Medical College MBBS students joined the protest on Saturday as NMC guidelines were imposed on the final year students. Their complaint is that on August 1, 2019, they passed the Entens exam and got admitted in the college. NMC was established on August 8 that year. It was decided that the NMC Act would not apply to those who were then medical students.

But a few days ago it was noticed that those who have been studying in Agartala Government Medical College since August 1, 2019, have issued guidelines to go to Silchar and take the exam on August 28. And they have to clear mock test there. Apart from taking mock tests from these final year students, their exams will be conducted within the month of November. Online examination will be conducted through M.C.Q. Students are not ready to take the exam in such a short period of time.

Because in the new guidelines that are going to be introduced, it is seen that they will have to take the exam in 19 subjects. And should get more than 50 percent marks in all subjects. Otherwise they will not be passed. But such rules apply especially to those who intership. So they protested on this day and made it clear to the authorities that they are not willing to give such an entrance test for the MBBS degree. If necessary, they will approach the chief minister, he said. The students protested for a long time. They demanded immediate withdrawal of NMC regulations from them. They are not agreeing to these rules.
