Manik Saha Sets Deadline Focus at DISHA Meet, Calls for Speedy Delivery of Central Schemes

Agartala, August 18: Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday chaired the state-level meeting of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring (DISHA) Committee at the Secretariat, reviewing the progress of various Centrally Sponsored Schemes and development programmes being implemented across the state.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister laid special emphasis on effective implementation of development projects, timely completion of works and stronger coordination among government departments. He directed officials to ensure that the benefits of government schemes and services reach eligible beneficiaries, particularly those living in remote and grassroots areas.

Dr. Saha stressed the need for regular monitoring of ongoing projects and called for time-bound action plans to address delays and other challenges affecting implementation. He said close coordination among departments would be crucial for ensuring that development initiatives are completed within stipulated timelines.

Officials concerned were asked to closely monitor the implementation of various Central government schemes and ensure that eligible beneficiaries receive assistance properly and without unnecessary delay.

The Chief Minister said the State government remains committed to accelerating Tripura’s overall development while making the delivery of government services more effective and accessible to the people.

He said special importance is being given to timely implementation of projects and ensuring that the benefits of development programmes reach every section of society, including residents of remote areas.

During the meeting, officials from various departments presented updates on the progress of Centrally Sponsored Schemes and other development programmes. They also highlighted issues and challenges encountered during implementation.

Dr. Saha asked the departments concerned to address such issues through better coordination and take necessary measures to prevent delays in project execution.

The DISHA Committee serves as an important platform for reviewing and monitoring the implementation of Central government schemes and development programmes, with a focus on improving coordination and ensuring effective delivery at the grassroots level.

Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy, Panchayat Minister Kishor Barman, East Tripura MP Kriti Singh Debbarma, several MLAs, including Birajit Sinha, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha and senior officials of various departments attended the meeting.
