Agartala: Jan 22: With the initiative of Longdrai Temple committee of Chulaiha Para Longdrai Festival 2024 has been organized here in Chulaiha village under Ampi Nagar RD block in Gomati Tripura today with great zeal and festive mood. On this auspicious occasion a large number of local Reang villagers of the area have assembled in the temple premises to celebrate the occasion. As per the report of the villagers, this Longdrai Temple is most ancient and popular among themselves and they worship their God (Mahadev & Parbati) which looks natural stone for last 200 years. According to the history of this temple, about 200 years back a local Reang inhabitant of the village had found strange stone in the stream which was appeared to him as God and he had brought that stone structure with care and devotion. He had established this stone God in a place in the village which has appeared as Longdrai God Temple today. Since then the villagers’ faith had been fortified to worship this stone God and which is being worshiped till the date. Generation wise a Reang Ochai is always looking after the temple for last 200 years. Today on this holy day, the birth anniversary of Lord Rama the villagers have appeared in the Longdrai festival with pious mood. After being neat and clean villagers have attended the religious worship programme and prayed for the welfare of their family and society. The local folk teams of the village have organized Kirtan in the temple premises. The devotees were served Maha Prasad. Under the supervision of the police SI Manuj Debbarma the whole programme was peaceful and there was a festive fervour in the village. The local devotees have expressed that if any organization or government authority provide them sponsor then they are going to construct a better Longdrai Temple for the local devotees of Ekjancherra VC ahead. Under the able guidance and supervision of the senor temple committee members Mr Chahbiram Reang and Mr Rajendra Reang the whole programme has been accomplished in their Reang ritual religious manner.
