Agartala: July 03: Putting an end to all speculation, Kishore Burman, MLA from Nalchha Assembly Constituency, was sworn in as the newest member of the Tripura cabinet on Thursday. The swearing-in ceremony took place at Raj Bhavan, Agartala, where Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu administered the oath of office in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, several ministers, MLAs, Chief Secretary J.K. Sinha, and other top officials.

Burman’s induction into the cabinet came as a surprise, despite ongoing speculation that the state government would induct at least two new faces into the Council of Ministers. However, no reports have emerged indicating the exit of any existing cabinet member.

Soon after taking the oath, Burman exchanged greetings with the Chief Minister, cabinet colleagues, and MLAs at the Darbar Hall. His inclusion is seen as a significant move, though political observers had anticipated a broader reshuffle within the cabinet.

With this development, the Tripura cabinet sees a fresh addition, signaling possible future changes in the state’s political and administrative landscape. The government is yet to announce any official reshuffle or expansion plans following Burman’s induction.

Burman’s entry is expected to strengthen the party’s presence in the Nalchha region and bring in new energy to the cabinet. His appointment reflects the state leadership’s strategic approach as it looks ahead to upcoming political challenges and governance goals.
