Government Degree College, Khumulwng conducts NCC-Elective Subject practical Examination under Tripura University today. The NCC Department of Government Degree College, Khumulwng conducted the University Practical Examination on 9th March 2023 at the college campus for 17 NCC cadets (SD-10, SW-7) under 1st Semester 2022-23 batch of the college. During the practical examination the Principal in-charge of the college, Dr. Pranabjit Bardhan Roy, Sri Pradip Debbarma, Examination Cell Convener and Lieutenant Daniel Debbarma, Associate NCC Officer (ANO) of the college were present. In Tripura the NCC was raised in 1958 and it was only a part of the co curricular activity for long past 65 years. However, with the concerted effort of Department of Higher Education, Government of Tripura and 13 Tripura Bn NCC in collaboration with Tripura University, the long awaited NCC has now become a reality come true from this year with NCC being introduced as Elective subject under Tripura University (a central university). Total 12 colleges affiliated to Tripura University (Central University) have opened the NCC as an Elective subject from this academic year. Now with the introduction of NCC as an Elective Subject at the bachelor’s degree level, the NCC is likely to promote the very aim of NCC in creating a pool of organized, trained and motivated youth with leadership qualities in all walks of life, who will serve the Nation regardless of which career they choose.
