Agartala: Dec 21: The administration did not give permission to hold a rally called by Janjati Suraksha Manch on December 25 in Agartala. The administration canceled the application fearing that such a rally may destroy the peace and harmony of the state.
On the request of Chief Minister Manik Saha the Janajati Suraksha Manch has decided to postpone the delisting rally on Christmas Day in Agartala by one day. He his was declared by JSM leader Pritimoy Debbarma during a press conference in the Agartala Press Club Thursday evening.
Leader of Opposition Animesh Debbarma had written to the Chief Minister not to allow this rally and meeting. The CPM party also objected to the public meeting of Janjati Suraksha Manch. The Janjati Suraksha Manch today said that the dates of the delisting rally and public meeting have been changed on the request of the Chief Minister. The delisting rally and public meeting will be held on December 26 instead of December 25. A public meeting will be held at the same time at the Agartala Stables Vivekananda Maidan.
