Agartala: Nov 15: With the joint initiative of Garia Academy (Model) School authority and TRPCL Janajati Gourav Diwas celebration programme has been conducted here in the Garia Academy (Model) School in Tentui Bari under Ampi nagar RD block in Gomati Tripura today. On the occasion of 148th birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a freedom fighter from indigenous community of Jharkhand who sacrificed his life for welfare the countrymen this programme was conducted to motivate the school students here interior school campus . As per the report, Janjati Gaurav Divas is a day to honour the contributions of India’s tribal communities. It’s celebrated on November 15th, which is the birth anniversary of Birsa Munda, a tribal hero from Chotanagpur. The day is also meant to inspire generations to preserve cultural and national pride. On this auspicious occasion Jamatia Hoda Okras as well as a large number of indigenous community leaders have assembled in the programme and paid homage to this glorious hero. The TRPC chairman Mis. Patal Kanya Jamatia from TRPCL arrived the programme alongwith former ADC advisor GS Rathee to inspire the indigenous people. Addressing the gathering TRPCL chairman PK J/M said, “The indigenous people are the genuine inhabitants in of our country. To obtain country’s sovereignty indigenous leaders have much contribution. Leader like Birsa Munda from indigenous communities glorified the nation. Through the Narendra Modi’s administration indigenous communities have gained prestigious recognition. Being indigenous people we should feel proud over our heritage and culture.”
