Agartala: Jan 24: Considering the current situation, the Indian National Congress has launched a nationwide movement with the slogan “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Constitution” to raise awareness among the people. The primary objective of this campaign is to alert citizens about what the Congress claims is a dangerous attempt by the BJP-led government to alter the sacred Constitution of India. According to Congress, this is one of the biggest attacks on the country at present. As part of this initiative, the Pradesh Congress will hold a convention on January 26 in Kumarghat, Tripura, centered around the slogans “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Constitution.”

This was announced during a press conference at the Pradesh Congress office by party spokesperson Prabir Chakraborty. He further stated that the RSS, the driving force behind the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has opposed India’s freedom struggle since its inception. The RSS, he said, not only denied India’s independence movement but also refused to recognize the national flag and national anthem for a significant period. Now, Chakraborty alleged, the RSS-led BJP government is showing a similar disregard for the Constitution, which it claims is sacred to the nation.

Chakraborty accused the BJP government of trying to replace India’s Constitution with a “Manu Smriti-like” framework, which he views as a move to centralize power and undermine India’s democratic values. In response to this, the Congress party has announced a series of protests and awareness campaigns, rejecting the BJP’s alleged plan to overhaul the Constitution. The upcoming convention in Kumarghat is a part of this broader effort to mobilize the public against what the Congress perceives as an attack on India’s democratic institutions and values.
