According to police and local sources, the skeleton was recovered from the office of the Chailengta Employees Coordination Committee. Family members have identified the remains as that of 85-year-old Alladi Sarkar, who had been missing since the Durga Puja festivities. The identification was made after the deceased woman’s daughter arrived at the spot and confirmed that the skeletal remains belonged to her mother.

The incident came to light when local residents opened the office room early on Thursday to make preparations for cooking in connection with a Shani Puja. As soon as the room was unlocked, the skeleton was found lying inside, triggering widespread alarm and confusion in the area. News of the discovery spread quickly, drawing a large crowd and creating a tense atmosphere in the locality.

Family sources said Alladi Sarkar had been missing for nearly three months, and despite efforts, the family had been unable to trace her whereabouts. Her prolonged disappearance had caused deep concern among relatives, who were anxiously searching for her.

Upon receiving information, police from Chailengta police station rushed to the spot and recovered the skeleton. A forensic team was also called in to collect necessary samples from the scene as part of the investigation. Police officials said that it was not possible to determine the cause of death from the skeletal remains at this stage.

The remains have been sent to the morgue for post-mortem examination to establish the exact cause and time of death. Police have registered a case and initiated a detailed investigation to ascertain how the elderly woman ended up inside the office premises and whether any foul play was involved.

Authorities said further action would be taken based on the forensic and post-mortem reports. The incident has left the local community shaken, with residents demanding a thorough and transparent investigation into the mysterious death.
