Agartala: June 12: The Union Home Ministry has announced that discussions regarding the implementation of the Tiprasa agreement will involve all political parties. Former Tipra Matha supremo, Pradyot Kishore Deb Barman, conveyed this message via social media today.

Manik Saha stresses values alongside academic success

Deb Barman emphasized the importance of consulting intellectuals, civilized citizens, and students in this matter. He expressed hope that an advisory committee would be established to propose provisions—covering cultural, legal, political, and constitutional aspects—that enhance people’s rights.

Furthermore, he advocated for the Sixth Schedule District Councils to convene jointly and request the Government of India to enact the 125th Amendment. Direct funding and anti-defection laws are seen as measures to bolster the independence of these councils.
