Agartala, November 9:
Tripura Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu on Sunday visited the BSF Golf Course located at the Border Security Force (BSF) Tripura Frontier Headquarters in Salbagan, Agartala. The visit was part of his ongoing efforts to engage with various security and defence establishments across the state and to understand their contributions toward maintaining peace and security in the region.
During his visit, the Governor interacted with senior BSF officials, officers, and personnel stationed at the frontier headquarters. He commended the BSF for its unwavering dedication to safeguarding India’s borders, particularly in Tripura’s sensitive frontier areas that share a long international boundary with Bangladesh.
Governor Nallu appreciated the initiative of developing and maintaining the golf course within the BSF campus, describing it as a symbol of discipline, teamwork, and mental rejuvenation for security personnel who serve under challenging conditions. He said that such facilities not only encourage physical fitness and recreation but also strengthen camaraderie among the officers and troops.
The Governor also highlighted the BSF’s multifaceted role beyond border protection — including its involvement in civic action programs, community welfare activities, and contribution to fostering goodwill between border communities. He lauded the frontier’s consistent efforts in supporting local development and maintaining harmony in the border regions.
Senior BSF officers briefed the Governor about ongoing security measures, welfare programs, and infrastructure development projects being undertaken within the Tripura Frontier. Governor Nallu expressed satisfaction over the frontier’s operational preparedness and the welfare provisions extended to personnel and their families.
The visit concluded with a brief interaction session, where the Governor extended his best wishes to the BSF for their continued service to the nation and their vital role in ensuring peace and security along Tripura’s international border.
