During his visit, the Governor conducted a thorough inspection of key departments including the Operation Theatre Complex, Neurology Ward, Plastic Surgery Ward, Urology Ward, and Gastroenterology Ward. He interacted directly with several patients, inquiring about their health conditions and the treatment they were receiving, thereby gaining firsthand insight into the hospital’s service delivery.

Dr. Shankar Chakraborty, Medical Superintendent of GBP Hospital, provided the Governor with a detailed briefing on the range of healthcare services and advanced medical facilities available in the Super Specialty Block.

Governor Reddy was accompanied by Prof. (Dr.) Arup Kumar Saha, Principal of AGMC, along with senior doctors and departmental heads from various specialties. The hospital authorities highlighted recent developments, including improvements in diagnostics, surgical care, and patient support systems.

Following the visit, the Raj Bhavan released an official statement appreciating the standard of medical infrastructure and the commitment of the hospital staff toward patient care. The Governor expressed satisfaction with the services and encouraged the medical professionals to continue their dedicated efforts in serving the public.

The visit reaffirmed the administration’s focus on healthcare improvement and emphasized the importance of high-quality, accessible medical services for all citizens. Governor Reddy’s hands-on approach is seen as a positive step toward reinforcing transparency and accountability in the state’s public healthcare system.
