In a swift response, vigilant residents of the area apprehended two fraudsters who had been peddling sarees under false pretenses. The suspects, hailing from Kolkata, had been operating in Tripura for the past three months, luring unsuspecting buyers with coupons. However, their deceptive tactics came to light as they consistently swindled the public in the guise of saree sales.

Today, their audacity reached new heights when they attempted to defraud an elderly woman in Laltila Colony, Uttar Ramchandra Ghat area. The duo managed to pilfer Rs 14,000 from her. Fortunately, the incident did not go unnoticed. Local residents swiftly intervened, catching the perpetrators red-handed. Without hesitation, they handed the fraudsters over to the Khoai police station.
