Four Bangladeshi Nationals Detained at Agartala Railway Station

Agartala: April 27: In a joint operation, the Agartala Government Railway Police (GRP), Railway Protection Force (RPF), and intelligence officials detained four Bangladeshi nationals at Agartala railway station. The individuals, identified as Jahirul Islam alias Jahir (42), Dilwar Hossain (44), Jamirul Islam (27), and Mohammad Zia (35), allegedly entered India illegally from Bangladesh and were preparing to travel to other states by train.

During preliminary questioning, the detainees disclosed plans to travel to Bengaluru and Chennai. Authorities suspect that additional individuals may be involved in the case. A formal case has been registered at Agartala GRP police station, and the accused are scheduled to be presented before the court.

Separately, Agartala GRP police recovered 19 packets of cannabis from the Deoghar Express train. Officer-in-Charge Tapas Das provided details regarding the seizure, emphasizing that investigations are ongoing. Security measures at the railway station have been strengthened in response to these incidents.
