The decision to raid Cake Plaza was prompted by multiple allegations that had accumulated over time. Concerns had been raised about the shop’s practice of selling expired food items. Acting on these allegations, the Food Department carried out an inspection, revealing a concerning array of issues. Among the findings were numerous expired food products, moldy cakes, and even contaminated packaged food items.

An official from the Food Department emphasized that the shop’s offerings were unsuitable for human consumption. Furthermore, the shop’s overall hygiene conditions were found to be subpar.

Taking decisive action, the Food Department shut down the Cake Plaza. Additionally, a stern warning has been issued to other establishments in the city, urging them to adhere strictly to food safety regulations and refrain from selling expired or unhygienic food items.

This proactive move by the Food Department serves as a safeguard for consumers, ensuring they are not exposed to substandard or unsafe food. It also sends a clear message to other businesses that compliance with food safety norms is non-negotiable.
