Agartala, May 11: The 204th birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale, the renowned pioneer of modern nursing, was commemorated on Sunday. Agartala Government Nursing College took the initiative to celebrate her birthday as International Nurses Day. Dr. Maitree Chowdhury, Principal of Agartala Government Nursing College, inaugurated the program by lighting a lamp.
In an interview, Dr. Chowdhury emphasized Florence Nightingale’s significant contributions to the field of nursing. Her tireless efforts and groundbreaking work have left an indelible mark, making her birthday a fitting occasion to honor nurses worldwide. As part of the celebration, a health camp was organized, providing essential services to many individuals. The theme for this year’s International Nurses Day was also highlighted during the event.
