Fatikroy observed Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas with great respect and enthusiasm on the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda, one of the foremost pioneers of the tribal movement and a revered freedom fighter. The event, organized by the Fatikroy Mandal Janajati Morcha, was held at the Jurichhara Bazar premises, where local residents along with representatives from various organizations gathered to pay homage to the legendary tribal leader.
The ceremony was graced by the presence of the local MLA and Minister of Animal Resource Development, SC Welfare, and Fisheries of Tripura, Sudhangshu Das, who attended as the chief guest. Also present were Unakoti District Janajati Morcha President Purna Mohan Debbarma, Fatikroy Mandal President Tarun Kumar Das, Mandal Janajati Morcha President Lagnamoni Reang, and several other prominent leaders.
Addressing the gathering, Minister Sudhangshu Das highlighted the inspiring and revolutionary life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. He emphasized Munda’s unparalleled contribution in safeguarding the dignity, identity, and rights of the indigenous communities. The minister noted that Birsa Munda’s courageous spirit continues to inspire generations and remains a symbol of tribal pride and resilience.
He further stated that under the leadership of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the nation has witnessed remarkable initiatives aimed at reviving and promoting the heritage, culture, traditions, and glorious history of tribal communities. Alongside cultural upliftment, unprecedented progress in the economic and social sectors of tribal society has become visible across the country, bringing transformative changes to their lives.
The event saw a remarkable turnout of people, creating a deeply emotional and respectful atmosphere throughout the program. The entire venue echoed with sentiments of admiration for Birsa Munda and pride in tribal heritage, making the celebration both memorable and meaningful for the community.
