Agartala, Sep 24 – In a special session organized by the Information, Cultural and Affairs (ICA) Department in Agartala this evening, I had the privilege of interacting with editors and senior media professionals to discuss Tripura’s ongoing development initiatives. The meeting was also attended by senior officials of the state government, reflecting the importance of a collaborative approach in shaping the state’s progress.
The session provided an excellent platform for open dialogue on key developmental priorities and emerging challenges. The editors and senior media persons present shared valuable insights and constructive suggestions on a wide range of issues. Their perspectives—shaped by years of engagement with people at the grassroots and their keen understanding of public sentiment—will play a significant role in refining policies and strategies for the benefit of the people.
I firmly believe that the media is not just an observer but an active partner in the journey of governance and development. Their role in disseminating accurate information, highlighting citizens’ concerns, and offering balanced critiques contributes immensely to building an accountable and responsive government. This interaction reaffirmed the importance of nurturing a strong partnership between the government and the media in order to create a more informed, transparent, and participatory society.
On this occasion, I also extended my heartfelt greetings to the media fraternity and their families on the eve of Durga Puja, wishing them joy, prosperity, and harmony during the festive season.
The exchange of ideas in today’s meeting will certainly propel Tripura’s development journey forward, ensuring that our efforts remain inclusive, people-centric, and aligned with the aspirations of every citizen.
