Agartala: Dec 31: Assembly elections may be announced within 15 to 20 days. Hence Mission 929 and Mission Zero Pool Violence was launched on Saturday by the Chief Electoral Officer’s Office to ensure the peaceful completion of the upcoming elections. Chief Secretary JK Rao inaugurated the program at Pragna Bhaban in the capital. State Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte, State Director General of Police Amitabh Ranjan and others were present in the program of the day. To launch this mission on the instructions of the Election Commission with a view to making the upcoming assembly elections comprehensive.To ensure maximum voter turnout in the state assembly, to strengthen the campaign to ensure systematic voter education and electoral participation, to conduct multiple constituencies from one remote polling station through RBM, to achieve the target of increasing voter turnout by 88 percent in 929 polling stations, Encouraging new voters to vote, arranging wheelchairs, separate lines at each polling station for the convenience of 80-year-old and disabled voters, making all arrangements for the administration and security forces to prevent any kind of election-related terrorism. During the visit of the delegation of the National Election Commission to the state, all matters of election are placed before them. On December 14, a review meeting was held on the upcoming elections of three states. The mission is designed to address two major challenges. Law and order has improved in every election. After that some things happen. It’s better if they don’t. Therefore, this initiative has been taken as per the instructions of the National Election Commission, said the State Chief Electoral Officer Kiran Gitte. District Magistrate, District Superintendent of Police, Divisional Police Officer, and Sector Officers participated in the event.
