The investigation began following a written complaint lodged on September 6th, after a group of thieves raided the municipal ward office at Jackson Gate. Acting on this complaint, the police initiated a thorough investigation. Sunil Debbarma, one of the individuals involved in the theft, was the first to be arrested. His interrogation led to the apprehension of six more syndicate members. Further intense interrogation at the police station resulted in the arrest of two additional individuals, who confessed to committing a theft at the Kali temple in Chandrapur a few days ago.

The SDPO confirmed that the arrested individuals will be produced in court today, where police remand will be sought.
