In that incident, the woman’s husband Jugal Kishore Jamatia filed a missing diary at the Ompi police station. Just two days after that, on November 2, the dead body of his 12-year-old daughter was recovered from the Dambur reservoir. Finally, in the raid last night, two people were arrested early this morning and the police interrogated them at Birganja police station. Meanwhile, on receiving the news, the local people gathered in front of the police station and demanded that the criminals be handed over to them for severe punishment. It is not possible to accept that demand; the police explained to them many times and requested them to go back. But, instead of going back to the police, they surrounded the police station and started protesting. They alleged that the police had lathi-charged and fired tear gas at everyone. In that, several people were injured.

In this regard, Amarpur SDPO Debanjali Roy said that the police have arrested two people in connection with the recovery of the dead bodies of mother and daughter from Dambur reservoir. They are being interrogated at Birganja police station. Meanwhile, 70 to 80 local people gathered in front of the police station and became agitated demanding that the two men be handed over to them.
