Drug Peddler Arrested with Illegal Cough Syrup and Eskuf in Shalbagan

Agartala: Sept 08: A drug peddler was apprehended by locals near Shalbagan Oxygen Park, under the jurisdiction of the Airport Police Station, with illegal cough syrup and Eskuf in his possession.

The locals promptly alerted the police, leading to a swift response from a large police force, including SDPO Subrata Barman from NCC Police Station and the OC of Airport Police Station.

Preliminary investigations revealed that a search of the vehicle, conducted in the presence of the Sadar DCM, led to the recovery of 300 bottles of Eskuf. The vehicle and the illegal drugs were subsequently seized and taken to the Airport Police Station.

According to local reports, a vehicle bearing the registration number TR01-X-0398 was speeding from Gandhigram towards Agartala. Suspecting the driver’s behavior, local youths apprehended him. Upon searching the vehicle, they discovered the illegal drugs. The police then arrested the drug peddler, identified as Subir Saha, along with the drugs and the vehicle.

SDPO Subrata Barman stated that a case would be filed against the drug peddler under the NDPS Act.
