Agartala, November 6: Cannabis smugglers of Dharmanagar are using new methods to smuggle the drug. Drug smugglers continue to try to smuggle cannabis out of the state through women and children. In the meantime, the police arrested a total of 13 people, including women and children, while smuggling cannabis.

According to the details of the incident, seven women came to Dharmanagar by morning train from Agartala on Monday. After coming to Dharmanagar, they went to ISBT from there to go other state by road. People reported to Dharmanagar police station for their suspicious loitering. The women police of Dharmanagar along with ISBT brought those who were loitering suspiciously to Dharmanagar police station for interrogation.

They are Dulia Devi (25), Gunjan Devi (25), Parvati Devi (30), Asha Kumari (25), Manupati Devi (35), Rinku Devi (25) and Pinaki Devi (25) all from Bihar state. They have six children of various ages ranging from one and a half months to three months old.

Dharmanagar police station OC Narugopal Dey said that during  searching, a total of 12 kg of dried cannabis recovered from their body in small amounts. They are currently kept in Dharmanagar police station. Later appropriate action will be taken against them as per law.
