The meeting was held at the Conference Hall of the District Magistrate & Collector’s office under the aegis of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA). It was chaired by District Magistrate Dr. Vishal Kumar and attended by representatives from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), Armed Forces, and various line departments, including power, health, public works, and rural development.

Addressing reporters after the meeting, Dr. Kumar stated that this was the first comprehensive preparedness review of the year. The primary focus was on evaluating the readiness of disaster-response equipment, identifying and preparing relief centres, and ensuring seamless coordination among all concerned agencies. He stressed that proactive planning and inter-departmental cooperation are crucial to minimizing damage and safeguarding lives during the upcoming South-West Monsoon season.

Key issues discussed during the session included the operational status of rescue and relief equipment, availability of emergency communication systems, identification of vulnerable areas, and the preparedness of shelters for immediate use. Officials were also directed to maintain updated contact lists and ensure rapid mobilization of response teams when required.

The District Magistrate emphasized that clear instructions have been issued to all district-level officers to remain on high alert and respond promptly to any emergency situation. The administration reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining vigilance and ensuring a coordinated, efficient response to protect residents from potential natural calamities in the coming months.
