DIET approves filling up of 8 lecturer posts for colleges: Chief Minister

Agartala January 10: Currently there are 7 DIET colleges in the state. Another DIET college is in the process of construction at Panisagar in North Tripura district. Also plans are made to recruit more teachers for DIET colleges.

In the financial year 2023-24, the Finance Department has sanctioned filling up of 8 Lecturer Posts for DIET Colleges. Accordingly steps have been taken to fill up the posts. Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha gave this information while replying to the questions raised jointly by MLA Ramu Das and MLA Bindu Debnath in the Legislative Assembly on Wednesday. He also said that it will not be possible to start the teaching of teacher training course from the current academic year in DIET college under Dhanpur assembly constituency because the matter is subject to the approval of NCTE. However, currently the building of DIET College is being disrupted by the Department of Education, SCERT and the District Education Rights Department for the development of various programs for the teaching and training of in-service teachers, head teachers.
