Agartala, January 31: Development is not possible without the support and cooperation of all political parties. Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister Ratan Lal Nath said this in no uncertain terms at the vegetable exhibition camp held at the Bharat Sardar Higher Secondary School grounds today. He claimed that agricultural land should be improved to become self-reliant. In that case all efforts should be continued.

On this day, he said that if it is not possible to improve 12 blocks including Tulashikhar, Damcharra, Dasda, Raishyabari, Mungiakami, Dumboornagar, Rupaichari, Shilachari, Ganganagar, Ompi, Chawmanu among the various blocks in the state, only then one Tripura best Tripura will take shape. In that case, the departments of education, health, agriculture, electricity, livestock, fisheries should be given the most importance in those blocks.

He added that there is a total of 1 lakh 43 thousand 281 kani land in Tulasikhar Agricultural Sub-division. It has 68881 kani of forest land. The amount of cultivable land is only 35788 Kanis. According to him, the total number of farmers in Tulashikhar is 5823 people. Patta recipients are 3200 people. He clearly said that in order to become self-reliant through the improvement of agricultural land, all efforts must be made on the 35,000 kani of cultivable land.

Finally, he said, the production rate of food grains per hectare was 2665 kg in Khowai district in 2018. During the last 5 years, the production rate of food grains has increased to 2949 kg.
