Despite strict security at the border, Bangladeshi citizens continue to illegally enter the state.

Agartala: August 10: East Agartala police station has arrested three Bangladeshi nationals on charges of trespassing into Tripura. The OC of East Agartala police station, Rana Chatterjee, said that they will be produced in court today seeking police remand.

It is noteworthy that due to the unrest in Bangladesh, BSF has been keeping a close watch on the borders of Tripura. In this situation, Bangladeshis are entering Tripura through various routes. Among them, three Bangladeshi nationals were arrested from the Chandrapur bus stand by the police.

East Agartala OC Rana Chatterjee said that based on secret information, it was reported that three suspicious individuals were loitering around the Chandrapur bus stand. Acting on that information, the police conducted a raid and arrested the three individuals and took them to the police station. During police interrogation, they confessed to illegally entering Tripura. However, it is still unknown through which border they entered the state. They had gathered at the Chandrapur bus stand to travel to another state.

The arrested individuals are Mohammad Sirajul Sheikh (22), Mohammad Alamin (20), and Fatima Begum (18). A case has been registered against the arrested under sections 61(2) and 143 of the Indian Penal Code.
