Deputation of Safai Mazdoor Sangha demanding equal pay for equal work

Agartala: Apr 01: The delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh has submitted a deputation to the Director of Labor Department on Saturday demanding equal pay for equal work. They demanded that the salary of the sanitation workers should be increased and the dues should be paid immediately by complying with the gazette notification.

Tanuj Saha, the state secretary of the organization, said that according to the Tripura government’s gazette notification, the daily wages of sanitation workers of each sector were fixed at 300 rupees from November 2022. But the decision to increase the salary of sanitation workers in other city organizations of Tripura including Vishalgarh Pur Corporation is not being implemented. He complained that cleaning workers in Vishalgarh are being paid 225 rupees and cleaning workers in Melaghar Nagar Panchayat are being paid 204 rupees daily. Therefore, the delegation of Akhil Bharatiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh has given a deputation to the Director of Labor Department on Saturday demanding equal pay for equal work.

 

They demanded that the salary of the sanitation workers should be increased and the dues should be paid immediately by complying with the gazette notification.
