A trader said that every month TNGCL used to pay gas bill to the traders through paper. But last 1 week ago notification was issued by TNGCL. It has clearly stated that from now on every 15 days the gas bill will be sent online and the bill will have to be paid online. Besides, it has also said that the money must be paid within 3 days of receiving the bill, otherwise 2 percent penalty will be charged.

They complain that 80 percent of the small traders in the state do not know how to pay bills online and use smart phones. Moreover, many do not have expensive mobile phones. Therefore, the traders who use commercial gas have today met on deputation to the official of TNGCL.

They demand that the rules of paying bills should be continued in the manner in which the bill is being paid every month at present.
