Longtrai, which started in Tripura, is aiming to expand beyond the borders of India and make its mark internationally, mirroring Deepa’s own journey of global recognition. Deepa Karmakar made history in 2016 when she became the first Indian female gymnast to qualify for the Olympic Games. In 2017, she was honored with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India in recognition of her outstanding achievements.

Currently, Deepa is serving as an Assistant Director at the Department of Youth Welfare and Sports of the Tripura Government. Apart from her role with Longtrai, she also serves as the brand ambassador for several important institutions, including the Tripura AIDS Control Society, ICFAI University, and the Tripura State Election Commission.

Deepa’s partnership with Longtrai is seen as an important step for the brand’s growth, symbolizing the state’s ambition to reach international markets. Her involvement is expected to bring both local and global attention to the brand, strengthening Tripura’s position in the spice industry while empowering the state’s global presence.
