Agartala July 29: Like every year on Saturday, AIDSO, AIDSO and AIMSS celebrated the death anniversary of Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar with due dignity. This day was the 133rd death day of Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar.
AIDSO state president Mridul Kanti Sarkar, AIDYO state president Bhavatosh Dey and AIMSS state secretary Shefali Debnath laid wreaths at Vidyasagar’s portrait in Battala area of the capital. Mridul Kanti Sarkar, State President of AIDSO spoke on the occasion highlighting various aspects of Ishwarchandra Vidyasagar’s life. He said that since the independence of the country till date, no government has implemented the educational ideas of great minds in the interests of students. Instead, they have been formulating educational policies against the interests of students. National Education Policy 2020 is against student interest. He urged all organizations including students – teachers – parents to protest to protect the interests of students.
