Agartala, May 19: The 135th birth anniversary of Vietnamese revolutionary leader and the father of the Vietnam liberation movement, Ho Chi Minh, was observed with reverence at the CPI(M) state headquarters in Agartala on Monday. The event was organized to commemorate the life, struggle, and global influence of the legendary anti-imperialist leader.
Party leaders, members, youth activists, and supporters gathered at the venue to pay homage to Ho Chi Minh. The program began with floral tributes to his portrait, followed by a brief introduction highlighting his contributions to global anti-colonial movements and his deep solidarity with oppressed nations.
Speaking at the occasion, senior CPI(M) leaders said that Ho Chi Minh was not just a national hero of Vietnam but also a symbol of resistance and hope for oppressed people worldwide. They emphasized the relevance of his ideology in today’s world, particularly in the context of rising imperialist aggression, capitalist exploitation, and the need for united struggles by working-class movements globally.
“Ho Chi Minh’s life teaches us the importance of ideological clarity, dedication to the cause of the people, and unyielding resistance against foreign domination,” one leader stated. They further stressed the need to educate the younger generation about such historic figures who dedicated their lives to justice, equality, and liberation.
The event also featured cultural performances and recitations inspired by Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary spirit. At the end of the program, a resolution was passed to continue observing his birth anniversary annually and to hold awareness programs in educational institutions.
The observance served as a reminder of the enduring legacy of Ho Chi Minh and his ideals, which continue to inspire progressive movements and leftist politics across the globe.
