Agartala: June 06:  A couple residing in Baikhora Subhash Colony, part of Shantirbazar subdivision, has lodged a formal complaint against three individuals for allegedly seizing their property unlawfully and forcibly evicting them from their home. Seeking justice, the couple has approached the Belgona court.

The complainant, Shyamal Sarkar, has resided in the house he built for over four decades. However, residents of Shantirbazar—Prodip Majumdar, Raju Majumdar, and Kaushik Chowdhury—reportedly registered the land in their own names, prompting the legal action.

Shyamal Sarkar’s court case, filed on September 20, 2022, aims to rectify the situation and reclaim their property. Despite the ongoing legal proceedings, the accused trio allegedly attempted to bulldoze the land. When confronted, they allegedly issued death threats. Furthermore, they allegedly tried to set fire to the couple’s house under the cover of darkness.

The Belgona court will now deliberate on this contentious property dispute, with the couple seeking a fair resolution.
