Agartala: Mar 11: At a Congress rally held today in Tripura, MLA Sudip Roy Barman made a bold prediction, claiming that a “political earthquake” is imminent in the state. Addressing a large crowd at the Orient Chowmuhani area in the state capital, Barman emphasized that the only way to protect the interests of the people and the nation was through a united struggle against the BJP. His message was clear: “We have to fight unitedly for the sake of the country.”
The public meeting, organized by the Pradesh Congress, featured several prominent leaders, including Congress Seva Dal All India President Lalji Desai, Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, and former Pradesh Congress President Pijush Kanti Biswas, among others. The rally was held under the slogan “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Sambit,” and saw enthusiastic participation from Congress supporters.
During his speech, Barman accused the BJP of using force to bring people from different parts of Tripura to their rallies, warning that the ruling party would face consequences for such actions in the future. He criticized the BJP for what he described as an “inauspicious” attempt to forcefully garner support, stating that this would backfire in the long run.
Barman also launched an attack on the CPM, asserting that the party had lost public support and would never regain power with the backing of its primary members. He criticized the CPM’s failure to uphold its ideological roots, which he said were centered on fighting for the rights of Dalits and the oppressed. Drawing a comparison, he praised opposition leader Rahul Gandhi for living a simple life and remaining committed to his beliefs without seeking personal gain.
Concluding his speech, Barman reiterated his call for unity and resistance against the BJP, stressing that it was the only way to safeguard the country’s constitution and the welfare of its people.
