Agartala: July 11: As soon as the tri-tier panchayat elections were declared and announced, political clashes emerged. Congress workers were attacked while attending an all-party meeting. State Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha made such a complaint. The leaders of the Congress raised a series of allegations against the ruling party through a press conference on Thursday. All India Congress Committee Editor Jarita Laitphalang, Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudeep Roy Barman and others were present in this press conference. In this press conference of the day, several voters left various parties and joined the Congress party in the run-up to the Tristar Panchayat elections.
In the conference, state Congress president Ashish Kumar Saha said that democracy in the state has been lost. Congress workers are being attacked across the state as soon as the election date is announced. In such situations, the State Election Commission was repeatedly demanded to submit nomination papers online. But Congress did not get any reply. In this situation, an election is being held in the state. As a result, the Congress president has expressed concern about how much democracy will be protected in this election.
He also said that an all-party meeting was organized in Gollali RD block ahead of the three-tier panchayat elections. Two workers Gautam Saha and Makhan Banik participated on behalf of the Congress party. At the end of the meeting, both of them were caught and beaten up. Their bikes were broken. One of them cannot be found. In the incident, the arrow of complaint is towards the workers of the ruling party. Also, the state Congress president alleged that a similar incident took place in Tepaniya of Gomti district. It was alleged that Congress workers were beaten up by entering the hall during the meeting there.
Congress MLA Sudeep Roy Barman discussed the overall situation of the state in the press conference today. He said that the Chief Minister of the state is saying that BJP wants 100% victory. When the head of the state speaks like this, it becomes clear once again how much democracy there is in the state. He complained that the ruling party is trying to erase the existence of the opposition party. The opponent is removed from the battlefield by beating the attack. Tristar Panchayat elections of the state are being held in such unsanitary conditions. So, like other elections, the Congress MLA expressed concern about the extent to which common people will be able to vote in this election.
He also spoke on several issues including commodity price hike, Vidyajyoti scheme, Santiniketan Medical College. He said that the price of goods in the market of the state is increasing rapidly. There is no government action to control the price of that commodity. It has become a condition where the common people spend their days in a kind of starvation. He said about the Vidyajyoti scheme, it is a flop scheme in the field of education in the state. Through this, the future of the students has been thrown into uncertainty. The Congress MLA called upon the Congress workers to come together to protect the overall interest of the state and ignore the bloodshed of the ruling party in this panchayat election for the common people.
Meanwhile, talking about the India alliance, the MLA said that in the Tristar Panchayat elections, the top issue of leaders at the grass root level has been left out. Candidates will be provided through local talks between both parties. In other words, even if nothing is said clearly, it is assumed that the Congress is not walking alone in the Tristar Panchayat elections by excluding the Left.
