Agartala: Nov 15: On Friday, the Congress organized a solidarity march in the Mandai Assembly constituency as part of a statewide campaign. The march started from Cobra Khamar Bazaar, located within the Mandai Assembly area, and concluded at the Koytarbari Durga Nagar School ground. The event was attended by Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, Congress MLA Sudip Roy Barman, and other party leaders.
Sudip Roy Barman stated that the solidarity marches are being held across the state from October 31, as part of a larger national initiative. He criticized the divisive politics being played by the ruling party for electoral gain, which he believes is weakening the country. He further accused the ruling government of looting the nation, adding that Congress cannot remain silent in such a scenario and must take to the streets to voice its opposition.
Barman argued that the country would progress only when people from all religions and communities unite to move the nation forward. However, he claimed the current government does not want this unity. He also spoke out against the increasing prices of essential goods, rising unemployment, and the state of education, which he claimed has been neglected. According to him, the administration has become indifferent, and the state’s governance is in the hands of a few wealthy individuals, further impoverishing the poor while the rich continue to grow wealthier.
The Congress leader criticized the ruling party for promoting a culture of division and exploitation, accusing them of using violence and political manipulation for personal gain. He concluded by announcing that the solidarity march would continue until November 19, urging the public to join the fight for a better and more equitable nation.
