During his interaction, MLA Barman criticized both the previous Left Front government and the current administration for their inaction on this issue. He stated that neither government has taken meaningful steps to address the demand for the Roman script, despite its significance to the indigenous community.

Highlighting the importance of understanding the sentiments of the indigenous people, Barman described the demand as rightful and overdue. He urged the government to act promptly, reiterating the Congress party’s continued support for the recognition of the Roman script for Kokborok.
