Agartala: Nov 05: In Chailengta, a person named Prashanta Das was found posing as a doctor and providing medical treatment to unsuspecting patients. He not only administered treatment but also charged them for his services, which were later discovered to be unqualified and illegal. One of the victims, Bikash Chandra Das, filed a police complaint after realizing that he had been misled into believing that Prashanta Das was a legitimate medical professional. According to the complaint, Prashanta Das had been operating without any medical qualifications or proper registration, exploiting the trust of the local community for personal gain.

Upon receiving the complaint, the local police began an investigation into the matter. Authorities are now looking into how long Prashanta Das had been practicing medicine under false pretenses, and whether there are other victims in the area who may have been treated by him. The police are also examining potential charges of fraud, impersonation, and practicing medicine without a license.

Local health officials have urged the public to be cautious when seeking medical treatment and to ensure that healthcare providers are properly certified. The case has raised concerns about the safety of medical practices in rural areas, where access to qualified professionals can sometimes be limited.
