Organised by the Noatia community, the festival is aimed at promoting peace, harmony and brotherhood among different sections of society, with a special focus on strengthening cultural ties among indigenous communities. The inaugural ceremony will be held at 5.30 pm on January 29, during which the Chief Minister will formally open the festival.

The announcement was made at a press conference held at the Gomati district office of the Information and Cultural Affairs Department. State executive secretary of the Noatia community, Patal Kumar Noatia, said that several ministers and dignitaries are expected to attend the opening ceremony. Among those likely to be present are Ministers Pranajit Singh Roy, Bikash Debbarma and Shuklacharan Noatia. Tripura State Noatia Hada Choudhury Uday Singh Noatia was also present at the press meet.

As part of the opening-day programme, a colourful traditional procession will be organised at 4 pm on January 29. Members of various tribal communities, dressed in their traditional attire, will take part in the procession, which will begin from Garjee Higher Secondary School and culminate at the mela venue.

The organisers said a budget of Rs 7.5 lakh has been allocated for the festival this year. During the two-day event, several exhibition stalls will be set up showcasing the culture, traditions, handicrafts and lifestyle of indigenous communities, offering visitors an opportunity to experience Tripura’s rich cultural heritage.

The festival will conclude on January 30, with Forest Minister Animesh Debbarma and other distinguished guests expected to attend the closing ceremony.

Describing Lampra Wathop as a platform for social cohesion and cultural exchange, the organisers said the festival encourages participation from people of all communities. They appealed to residents across the state to attend the event and be part of the celebrations, adding that adequate arrangements are being made to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the festival.
