Agartala: September 19. Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha today moved a congratulatory motion on the first day of the Tripura Legislative Assembly session on the success of Operation Sindoor in combating militancy.

Dr. Saha said that on April 22, 2025, in Pahalgaon, Kashmir, a total of 26 citizens, including innocent tourists, were brutally killed by Pakistan-backed extremist terrorists.

“This brutal murder deeply saddens the entire country. I strongly condemn this heinous act and express my deepest condolences to the families of the victims,” he said.

The Chief Minister said that immediately after the incident, Prime Minister Narendra Modi told the nation that India would never tolerate such terrorist attacks again.

“The terrorists involved in this incident and their sponsors will be given a befitting reply. The Prime Minister informed the countrymen that wherever the terrorists are hiding, they will be found and punished. Finally, in protest against the massacre in Kashmir and to suppress militancy, the Indian Army launched Operation Sindoor late at night on May 7, 2025. In this well-planned operation, several terrorist bases and training camps inside Pakistan were destroyed. It is reported that a large number of terrorists trained by the Pakistani Army were killed in this operation,” said Dr. Saha.

He further stated that when Pakistan started shelling India, several military infrastructures in Pakistan were damaged in the retaliatory missile strikes conducted by the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, but the operation was successfully completed without any harm to Pakistani citizens.

The Chief Minister said that every attack by Pakistan has been repulsed with great courage and skill by the brave soldiers of the Indian Armed Forces.

“India is completely safe without any loss. Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, this operation was carried out successfully. The way the Indian Army gave a befitting reply to the Pakistani attack reflects India’s bravery. I fully support the Prime Minister’s announcement that India’s operation against terrorism and terrorists will continue on behalf of the people of the state. This operation bears witness to the strength of India’s defense system in the last decade. India is a worshipper of non-violence and believes in peaceful coexistence,” he said.

Dr. Saha also said, “From the Tripura Assembly, I congratulate the Prime Minister for this practical step and the unprecedented success of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force. I congratulate all the officers and personnel of the security forces, including the Border Security Force, who are working tirelessly and with immense courage to guard our borders and keep the country safe. Through Operation Sindoor, India has not only given a befitting reply to the genocide against humanity in the Kashmir Valley, but has also proved to the whole world that India is always alert, strong in combating terrorism and, if necessary, does not hesitate to strike directly at the enemy’s bases across the border.”

The Chief Minister said Operation Sindoor has undoubtedly become a historic milestone for India against terrorism.

He added that the Tripura Legislative Assembly extends its heartfelt respect and congratulations to the Prime Minister, Defense Minister, National Security Advisor, Chief of Defense Staff, Chiefs of the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force, including the BSF Chief, and all the brave soldiers who have taken the oath to protect the motherland.
