Agartala: Jan 04: On the occasion of the completion of three years of BJP-led municipal corporation governance, Corporator Suparna Debnath organized a discussion and a clothing distribution program for the underprivileged in Ward 4 on Saturday. The event was attended by Mayor and MLA Dipak Majumdar, former MLA of Barojla constituency Dr. Dilip Das, and other dignitaries.
The BJP-led municipal corporation was formed in 2021, and recently it celebrated its three-year anniversary. In light of this milestone, various programs have been organized across different wards.
At the Ward 4 event, the Mayor spoke about the developmental work undertaken over the past three years in each ward, including improvements in drinking water supply, road construction, and drainage systems. Efforts to beautify the city have also been a priority. However, he emphasized that much work is still to be done and plans are in place to complete these projects in the near future.
The Mayor also criticized the 25 years of the Left Front’s governance, claiming that no significant work had been done during their tenure. He said that the public would judge the BJP-led corporation based on the improvements it has made.
Dr. Dilip Das, former MLA of Barojla, expressed his surprise that despite all the work done, the outcome was not reflected in the election results.
Meanwhile, in Ward 6, a similar clothing distribution program was held, with Mayor Dipak Majumdar also attending the event.
