Agartala, May 27 — Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha addressed a recent child selling incident in Dhalai district, shedding light on the historical context of child trafficking in Tripura. During the Left period, when scarcity prevailed, children were reportedly sold every day in the state.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Saha emphasized that swift action was taken in response to the recent incident. The child involved was promptly reunited with their mother within 24 hours of the news coming to light. However, during the Left period, child trafficking was a recurring issue, with reports of children being sold regularly.
