Agartala: Mar 11: At the fourth foundation day celebration of Lipika Dasgupta Memorial School (English Medium) in Purba Gokulnagar, Bishalgarh Subdivision, Chief Minister Professor (Dr.) Manik Saha emphasized the transformative power of education. Speaking as the chief guest, he remarked that students receiving proper education would become the driving force of the nation in the future, underscoring the importance of studying.
The Chief Minister highlighted the significant changes in the state’s education sector under the Prime Minister’s National Education Policy. He outlined various initiatives undertaken by the state government, including the Super 30 project, the Chief Minister’s Merit Award for children of the security department, Talent Search Programs, vocational education through the Department of School Education, Smart Classes, establishment of English medium schools, the Bande Tripura channel, the PM-Janman Project, and the distribution of free bicycles to female students. He also expressed hope that the inclusion of Kokborok language alongside English and Bengali in the school’s curriculum would foster harmony between communities.
Minister of Forest, Science, and Technology, Animesh Debbarma, commended the inclusion of Kokborok in the curriculum, stating that it would strengthen relationships among students and enable them to learn all three languages. He extended his best wishes for the school’s continued success.
The event featured a welcome address by Dr. Gaurav Dasgupta, a trustee of the school, and a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. Olivia Dasgupta, another trustee. Other dignitaries in attendance included Supriya Das (Dutta), Chairperson of Sepahijala District Council, MLA Antara Sarkar Deb, MLA Sushanta Deb, and Dr. Alekhya Dasgupta, MD of the school.
