Agartala: Dec 15: Tripura was self-reliant from the beginning. But the previous government, for 35 long years, did nothing. They only shouted slogans. Now, they have started to peep out of their homes. Due to the pain of their slogans, many factories in the state have been shut down.”

The Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, said this while laying the foundation stone for eight new projects worth 146 crores in Udaipur subdivision on Sunday.

In Udaipur Ramesh English Medium School, 44 crores will be spent on Udaipur Municipal Corporation, Town Hall, and a multi-storey commercial building. The basement of this building will have a parking zone. 40 crores will be spent on the science building of Netaji Subhas Mahavidyalaya. 8 crores 24 lakhs will be spent on the ‘Vichitra Hall’ and a new building of Ramesh School. The total allocation for this project is 8 crores 51 lakhs. 5 crores 79 lakhs 87 thousand rupees will be spent on installing a synthetic turf at Ramesh School ground. A high-quality motor stand will be built at Rajarbag. 10 crores will be spent on this.

16 crores 24 lakhs 90 thousand rupees will be spent on a 200-bed youth hostel adjacent to the Bhagini Nivedita School. 24 crores 20 lakhs will be spent on the District Magistrate’s office. The Chief Minister also inaugurated the newly constructed pucca building of Gamaria School. 1 crore 87 lakhs 94 thousand rupees have been spent on it.

This foundation stone laying ceremony was held at Udaipur Ramesh English Medium School ground on Sunday.

Speaking at the event, the Chief Minister further said that the work of the Left Front government was very slow. Due to them, the current government has to do a lot of work now. But the work that the current government is doing today, if it had been done earlier, the current government could have spent money in other areas today.

The Chief Minister also said that Udaipur, Dharmanagar, and Agartala cities will be made satellite towns. If these become modern towns, various problems will be solved.

Countering the opposition, the Chief Minister further said that they often allege that there is no peace in the state. In fact, they always design plans to create unrest. Then they look for an opportunity to come out on the streets saying that there is no peace in the state. But within three days, the government closes that opportunity.

Besides the Chief Minister, the state’s Finance Minister Pranjit Singh Roy was also present at the event.
