Agartala, April 1: In a charged election rally held today in the East Tripura Lok Sabha constituency, Chief Minister Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha took a firm stand against the CPM, accusing them of perpetuating a politics of division and animosity during their 25-year rule.
Highlighting the massive public support for Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr. Saha emphasized that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has effectively communicated its victory message. The BJP’s commitment to central government projects aims to ensure that beneficiaries do not miss out on essential government schemes.
Celebrating a local achievement, Dr. Saha proudly announced that Mata Tripurasundari’s prasad (penda) received international recognition recently. Additionally, the traditional mother’s attire, known as ‘Rignai/Pachra’, has gained prominence globally, resonating with religious communities and castes across the state.
Under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, Tripura has witnessed significant strides toward a conflict-free environment. The state’s law and order situation has vastly improved, fostering a sense of peace among its residents. Notably, Tripura ranks third in terms of law and order nationwide.
Addressing the issue of caste politics, Dr. Saha echoed Prime Minister Modi’s perspective. According to him, there are four essential castes in the country: women, youth, farmers, and poverty. Their development directly contributes to the nation’s progress, a vision that the BJP government actively pursues.
In a sardonic twist, the CPM-Congress alliance, now dubbed Indy Jot, faces an identity crisis. The Congress flag now flies from CPM offices, while the CPM flag adorns Congress premises. Clearly, the political landscape has shifted, leaving the alliance disoriented and questioning its footing.
