Chabimura, also known as Chakwrakma or Chakrakma, is a popular tourist destination located in the Indian state of Tripura. The site is famous for its panels of rock carving that adorn the steep mountain wall on the bank of the Gomati river. These carvings depict various Hindu deities such as Shiva, Vishnu, Kartika, Mahisasura Mardini Durga, and others.

Chabimura is situated on the bank of the Gomati river at Haakwchak or Haakchak, Amarpur subdivision, under the Gomati district. The site is located 82 km away from the main city and capital Agartala, Tripura. It is also situated 30 km away from Udaipur and 7.5 km away from Amarpur.

The rock carvings at Chabimura are believed to have been created during the 15th-16th century AD by the Tripuri kings who ruled the region during that time. The carvings were made using chisels and other hand tools, and their intricate designs are a testament to the skill and artistry of the craftsmen who created them.

The largest carving at Chabimura is that of Lord Shiva, which measures approximately 20 feet in height and 12 feet in width. Other notable carvings include those of Lord Vishnu and his ten incarnations, Lord Kartikeya, and Mahisasura Mardini Durga. The carvings are not only a symbol of the region’s rich cultural heritage but also a testament to the religious and artistic traditions that have flourished in Tripura for centuries.

In addition to the rock carvings, Chabimura also offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy the scenic beauty of the surrounding landscape. The site is situated amidst lush green forests, and the Gomati river adds to the natural beauty of the area. Visitors can take a boat ride along the river or enjoy a picnic on its banks.

By Train:
The nearest railway station to Chabimura is Kumarghat railway station, which is approximately 160 km away. From there, you can take a taxi or a bus to reach Chabimura.

By Bus:
There are several buses that run from Agartala, the capital city of Tripura, to Amarpur, which is the nearest town to Chabimura. From Amarpur, you can hire a taxi or an auto-rickshaw to reach Chabimura. The distance between Amarpur and Chabimura is approximately 7.5 km.

By Airplane:
The nearest airport to Chabimura is the Agartala Airport, which is well-connected to major cities in India like Kolkata, Guwahati, Delhi, and Mumbai. From the airport, you can take a taxi or a bus to reach Chabimura. The distance between Agartala and Chabimura is approximately 82 km.

It is recommended to check the availability of transportation and their timings before planning your trip to Chabimura. You can also hire a private car or taxi to travel to Chabimura. The journey to Chabimura is an enjoyable one, as you will get to witness the scenic beauty of the surrounding landscape.
