Agartala: July 24: The central government has unveiled the public welfare budget for the financial year 2024-25. MP Biplab Kumar Deb expressed his gratitude to Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman and Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the budget.

During the budget session in Parliament, Shri Deb highlighted the financial improvements since Narendra Modi took office in 2014. He noted that Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has presented a budget of approximately Rs48 lakh crore for the fiscal year 2024-25, marking an 18.2% increase in capital expenditure compared to the previous year’s budget. He emphasized that higher capital expenditure benefits government and infrastructure development across the country.

Biplab Deb also mentioned that states will receive over Rs 4.82 lakh crore through this budget. He thanked the finance minister for presenting a public welfare budget that aims to provide employment, skills, and other opportunities to 4.1 crore youth over the next five years.

He outlined a project to offer internship opportunities to 1 crore youth in the top 500 organizations over the next five years, which will help young women from all levels of society establish themselves. The budget allocates Rs1.48 lakh crore for education, resources, and skills development.

Additionally, the Union Budget includes provisions for the upliftment of villages and the poor, with free ration being provided for another five years under the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana.

Biplab Deb highlighted that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India has become the top producer of milk and ranks second in rice and wheat production. The budget also emphasizes women’s self-empowerment, with 33% of government job seats reserved for women.

He contrasted the current government’s efforts with the previous Congress government, noting that the Congress did not prioritize youth and development in the same way. He also mentioned that during the Congress regime, President’s rule was imposed in Tripura, and the CPM was installed to protect their alliance.

Biplab Deb concluded by expressing confidence that the BJP will remain in power until 2047, predicting that the party will return to power with more than 400 seats. He also noted that Prime Minister Modi has visited the North Eastern region for a total of 90 days, in contrast to former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who never visited Tripura despite being a Rajya Sabha MP from Assam.
